Historical Background

Baldwin Stocker School first opened in 1966. The school was named after Clara Baldwin Stocker, who was the eldest daughter of Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin. Lucky Baldwin purchased Rancho Santa Anita in 1875 and transformed the ranch to city land by making the first subdivisions. When Arcadia incorporated in 1903, Lucky Baldwin became the mayor. The school colors are red and white and the mascot is a bulldog.
